Description:

1979 MG MGB

Production of the MGB began in October 1962 just after the production of the MGA had ceased. The purity of driving a 2-seat British Roadster is an addictive experience. Our servicemen in WWII in England brought home the passion and the market for these roadsters. MG couldn't produce enough of these to keep up with demand. Though often referred to as a roadster, the MGB had roll up windows, outside door handles and vent wings. A Mark II version was added in 1967, and the car stayed in production until 1980, becoming one of the most successful British sports cars of all time, with a total of over 300,000 cars being exported to the U.S. alone.
The GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1979 MGB Roadster for consideration. Finished in Russet Brown, this MGB still retains its original paint and it looks great. The body is nice and straight and the trim is clean and intact. The Convertible top is in excellent condition and the visibility is good through the rear window. According to the owner the carbs have been tuned and synced, and the seats have recently been redone with fresh cushions and covers making for a tidy cockpit. The car fires right, and runs smooth. A blip of the throttle wakes the rev happy 1.8 liter inline four cylinder up, and instantly puts a smile on your face.
This 1979 MGB has just over 49,000 miles and has been well cared for its entire life. Whether you're looking to join the local British sports car club or simply cruise it for the summer, this MGB does not disappoint.
