1969 MG MGC GT

This is a rare treat at a value price. The 1969 MG MGC GT is the more powerful and low-production kin to the MGBs we all know, so to have this distinct coupe available today is an exceptional opportunity.

You know these classic proportions well. This very European fastback silhouette with delicate chrome bumpers, full-length sweeping trim, and just a hint of tailfin looks excellent. It's the unmistakable look of the MGB GT... But then you notice the distinct hood with the power bulge. It's the telltale sign of the rare MGC. We'll talk about the added power in a moment, but first, let's appreciate this rare British treat - production numbers are reported as little as under 4,500 coupes ever built, in total. The extra power means this is a better grand touring machine than the MGB. So, the extra luggage capacity of the GT and larger 15-inch wire wheels just seem to be a better fit for a true weekend getaway machine. But even when this is just parked in your garage, you'll know this one is the right choice, because the more recent application of the bright red paint has the gloss of a quality application. So it does a terrific job of really highlighting the MGC's unique pieces.

They made a solid investment on the interior only a few years ago, and that included a new headliner and new door panels. And you'll especially like the upgraded leather seats with the very cool red piping to match the exterior. While this looks fresh, it should also look familiar. Not much had to be changed from the MGB for the MGC interior. After all, the feeling from the driver's bucket seat is sung but comfortable. And everything is easily reached from the heat/defrost control, to cup holder in the center console. You take full control with the upgraded Moto-Lita wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and beyond that, you'll love watching the full Smiths gauge package do its dance. The GT's special rear seat has been finished in the same cool black with red as the front, and it folds down to deliver plenty of cargo space in this hatchback.

The moment you open the hood, you can tell there has been some serious care given to this car. The MGC had 50% more cylinders and 50% more displacement than the MGB, and that makes it quite desirable today. That's why there has been a lot of time invested in keeping this looking so good. You see the quality in the correct minty green block of the 2912cc inline six. The whole engine bay is a tidy setup, and there was even a new water pump and rebuilt twin SU carburetors done in 2015. As a true grand touring machine, the MGC received a special front suspension package, power brakes w/discs up front, and had the enhanced power to accommodate the three-speed automatic transmission.

You know MGCs don't come around too often, so act now on this well-sorted and affordable example before it's too late. Call today!!!
