1969 MG MGC GT
1969 MGC GT with factory installed Overdrive transmissionThis 1969 MGC GT with the factory overdrive transmission is absolutely stunning in every way. MG offered 4 versions in late '67 thru '69, the MGB Roadster, MGB GT, MGC Roadster, and the MGC GT.. the MGC versions were the higher end option mainly because of the big 6 cylinder engine that was being offered with it. With only a total of 9002 MGCs made, only 4458 were GTs, and only 1773 were imported to North America. Within those numbers were automatics, standard 4 speeds and the optional 4 speed with overdrive. So when you break those numbers down you can see the rarity of the MGC especially this particular MGC GT. The paint of this 1969 MGC GT is British Racing Green(PPG Concept Paint which is extremely durable and extremely shiny and flawless) and is the original color along with the all Black interior(a British Motor Heritage certificate is included with the car, stating that its originality is British Racing Green with Black interior, the optional Overdrive Transmission and optional Chrome Wire Wheels that came on this particular car). Original in-line 6 cylinder engine(all external engine seals and gaskets have been replaces when engine was removed and detailed before installing back in the detailed engine compartment) and the overdrive transmission functions perfectly. A Pertronix electronic distributor is utilized(no more points to deal with), along with new Cobalt plug wires and new NGK plugs. The heater box, clutch and brake systems are all rebuild and/or new. New 3 piece clutch, new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, and new clutch hose. New rubber brake lines(front and rear), new brake master cylinder with the original reservoir(now unavailable new), along with the ALL ORIGINAL, NEW, BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM(extremely rare to find, especially in top notch working order as this set-up is) car stops fantastic. DOT 5 brake and clutch fluids(so any spills will not harm the paint and Dot 5 also has a higher boiling point than standard brake fluids). The original "3.7 rear endâ€(another rare option on the MGC) is in excellent working order(fresh fluids and seals), new brake shoes and new rear wheel cylinders. New hand brake cable. New front shocks. New front brake disks and pads. New chrome throughout, along with all new rubber seals(including headlight body gaskets, door seals, rear quarter window seals, engine compartment rear seal, rear hatch inner and outer seals). New GT hatch lift covers and buttons, new hatch "MGC MG GT" emblem, new grille, new bumpers and bumperettes front and rear, new oil cooler and oil cooler lines, new radiator with polished brass top tank and polished brass overflow bottle(runs nice and cool!). All new radiator/heater hoses, and fuel line hoses. New windshield(with new windshield seal and filler strip, as well as rear hatch window seal and filler strip), new chrome wiper arms/blades. New side chrome strips. All electrics work as they should. 5 New - 15" tubeless Chrome Wire Wheels with new tires(all matching including spare), all new 2 eared, chrome knock offs for wire wheels. Electric fuel pump. New upgraded version fuel sending unit in new gas tank. Performance header system mated up to full stainless steel exhaust all the way back. All new rubber mountings for exhaust. An extremely desirable upgrade to this MGC is the impressive triple 45DCOE Weber conversion kit.. not only is the triple Webers impressive to see when the bonnet is lifted to expose the detailed engine compartment but the performance is certainly boosted. New turn signal switch and new wiper switch. New rear tail light assemblies, and new reverse lights. New single 12 volt battery with Battery Tender Jr installed so the battery is always ready and fully charged. New 3 piece doors/hatch lock set. Many, many more parts added during this restoration, a detailed list is available. There is absolutely NO rust on this car, nor was there ever any need for rust repair during the restoration process, the structure of this MGC is spotless. This is a RARE example of a pristine 1969 MGC GT.Visit my website at: MGBClassics.comVehicle Details:
