Description:

1963 MG MGB

1963 MGB roadster purchased from storage locker where it had been stored for 20+ years (as seen in pictures before removed from storage). This MGB was restored to the condition it was found in and had been driven for less than 20 miles before it was stored. After being removed from storage the essentials were done prior to starting and test driving car. This included oiling cylinders for a week, Then turning over by hand with plugs out, flush fuel tank also replacing fuel lines and radiator hoses, new rear brake cylinders (brakes were/are new). When started, car found to be running strong and clean. While I do not know all that was done I was told engine was rebuilt during restoration. I have had several MGBs, and this one has more power/take off than most I have driven. Front end and rear springs look to have been redone as can be seen in pictures. When purchased car restoration was incomplete missing the front sway bar and interior pieces, there, but yet to be installed.

This car was lovingly restored to its current condition. Mileage as on odometer, actual miles unknown. Though not perfect, it is a very fine car and a very solid driving car. Cosmetically this MGB is beautiful inside and out. The bumpers do have a little rust pitting and one license plate light has a scratch on the mounting and was not put back on for this reason I would assume (but comes with car). The only further adjustments this car will need to be driven is a proper tuning and alignment (since sway bar installation) and needs seat belts. It starts and drives as it is, but should be fine-tuned to a degree that is beyond my expertise (sync. Carbs etc.). Car comes with books, matching passenger side mirror, blower vents (not installed since renovation), two tonneau covers (one nice other may be original with age defects, but usable), boot cover with frame, top with front rail (but missing frame) and the heavy car cover as seen in the original storage pictures. Top is older windows yellowed a bit but still soft and pliable. Yellowing looks like it can be cleaned off. I could swear there was a top frame, but cannot locate it. If I find it, it will be included with car. Hard top pictured on car in storage was sold and not part of this auction.

Have a good look at the pictures, this car was put together with thought and care. The person who was restoring the car moved to Los Angeles leaving the nearly completed restoration project (along with home furnishings) in a storage facility in Hollister Ca. for 20+ years (he said 22 years). I purchased car simply because of the condition it is in. I have more than one convertible project and didn't need this car.....but you don't walk past a gold nugget just because you have 5 in your pocket. Everyone who has seen this car has made the same type comment "WOW! This car is sweet!" or "This is a beautiful car”. If you are looking for an MGB, this one you will be happy with, it truly is a nice MGB. I have owned several MGBs in recent years and recently just sold my last one a 1964...same color. I still have a few MGB items for sale left over from my former MGB hobbies. This MGB easily is the best MGB I have had in my possession.

I have a few more pictures of this car (could only post 24 in this auction). Car is still located in Hollister for those who may want to kick the tires. I am happy to supply any additional information, answer questions and supply additional photos upon request.

Sorry, there are just too many unreliable bidders out there (being generous with "unreliable")

Feedback.....
Up until a few months ago I had a 100% positive feedback rating. A buyer purchased an item from me for $22 and paid for that item via Paypal. I shipped item out next day and they promptly received in good condition as described. No contact from buyer, except for the negative feedback left. The reason? The person did not remember ordering (and apparently paying for) the item. The buyer also noted that there was a no return policy listed in auction (see feedback). This annoys me to no end and have contacted e-Bay a plethora of times including in reply to their survey sent to me on how they handled the situation. How did e-bay handle the situation? Simple, zero contact. I never heard back from e-Bay (until automated survey) on any of my requests to have this unjustified feedback removed.Sellers pay good money for the services e-Bay provides. It is not unreasonable to ask that when a seller uses the proper channels to address an issue, that they should receive some form of action. Most sellers work hard and take care to protect their feedback as an assurance of accuracy and confidence in the items they have listed. e-Bay at a minimum should respect the efforts of their clients and protect them against this sort of abuse of the feedback system.
Ok, I am off my stump.
