Description:
1972 MG MGB Coup
Up for auction is my 1972 MGB GT. The car sports the sought after overdrive transmission, wire wheels and very rare Air Conditioning option. This is a reluctant sale as I planned on keeping her forever but issues have come up that force me to sell her. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. This is you chance to get a solid straight forward MGB GT well below the current market value. Make no mistake she is selling this week to the highest / last bidder. Much has been done and huge dollars just spent on the car so please take time to read the auction in its entirety. Just spent a fortune on her as you will see and read in the auction Overdrive Transmission: Yes this car has the highly sought after factory over drive transmission option: In working order and makes for a more enjoyable highway experience Car sports the rare and sought after air conditioning option. Everything appears to be there and the compressor spins freely ( new belt on the compressor ). Have no idea what it will take to reinstate it but having the option of AC is a huge plus. The car runs great. Starts right up with no issues or ticking noises at this time. Tight engine and I see no fluid leaks / drips under the car at this time. The car was just serviced with the following work just completed: Professionally Rebuilt Carburetors including New needles and floats, New points, New ignition wires, Newdistributorcap, New rotor button, New air filters, New oil filter, Oil changed, New radiator cap, New alternator, New belts, New water pump, New fuel pump, New gas tank, New fuel sending unit, New fuel lines, New fuel filter, New filler seal, New front & rear brakes hoses, New tires, New clutch master cylinder, New horns installed, New brake light switch, New reverse light switch and some other items I can't think of right now. If you know these cars then you will notice how original the engine bay is with the emission equipment including the smog pump and charcoal canister. Note: I did take off the smog pump recently but it does come with the car and spins freely. Exterior: I just completed installing the following items: Complete NEW front and rear bumpers, New side chrome moulding kit installed, New complete windshield, New windshield gasket, New windshield chrome surround, New wiper blades, New front grill badge, All New trunk badges New outer door glass seals, New door seals, New backup lens and a New chrome retractable antenna. The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person but this is to be fair a driver quality car and don't want anyone expecting a $20K show car. Zero rust or rust repairs on the car that I can find. Laser straight body !! Car sports the wire wheels option and I just installed NEW tires this week. Probably spent over $2500 alone in this area in the past 30 days.Electrical's: This area is in good condition. The front / rear running lights work, front / rear turn signals work, front / rear side markers work, headlights work, brake lights work, back up lights work, wipers work, courtesy light works, horns work, trunk light works, licence plate lights work and the NEW stereo works with New speaker as well. Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith" brand
Interior: Overall nice condition. Trunk:The trunk is rock solid. Underbody: The underbody is in very, very good condition as seen in the photo. Don't see many this solid out there. Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at:http://www.ableautotransport.com/ Overseas Bidders:Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logisticsshipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ).
In Closing:The abovedescriptionis my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's driver quality car so you should expect a 47 year old car with many new items when she arrives at your home. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling her as in "as is" condition and mileage exempt. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end.
