1959 MG MGA
1959 MGA Twin Cam roadster.
Initially designed for competition work the MGA Twin Cam propelled MG back into the winner's circle. It was hailed by MG enthusiasts worldwide.The new MG finished an impressive 12thoverall at Le Mans and a special factory built land speed car broke records with a top speed of 254 mph at Bonneville. The MGA twin cam engine, in supercharged form, producing 303 bhp.
An impressive list of improvements came with the car.
Four wheel Girling disc brakes
Dunlop center lock disc wheels as used on the Jaguar D-type.
Dual brake master cylinders
Upgraded steering and suspension
Large capacity aluminum oil pan (twice the size of its pushrod cousin)
7,000 red line tach.
Only 2,111 twin cams were produced and the model was in production for a mere 20 months from Sept 1958 until June of 1960.
The car on offer is a 1959 Roadster. Chassis YD3/791. Shows 11,500 on the speedometer. It retains its original Twin Cam motor which has just been rebuilt by marque specialist Mack Motorsports.It was a full rebuild incorporating many upgrades, including custom built pistons and an upgraded oil pump. The new engine has less than 100 miles since rebuild.
The car is painted black with a grey interior and is in good original condition thru out.
Leather is original. Older repaint. The original color looks to be a light green.
The top is in good condition.
Comes with an optional factory aluminum hard top.
She is road ready and plenty of fun.
