Description:
1968 MG MGB
My brother bought this March 1995, he is the second owner. We completely restored this MGB over a period of 11 years. $12,000 spent on body and paint labour alone. New fenders, doors, hood, rockers, inner sills, jack points etc replaced. I personally believe this is the best year for a "B" as it has the fully synchronized 4 speed gearbox (optional overdrive fitted to this car-a must have IMO), 12 volt negative ground electrics with alternator, reversing lights, leather interior with contrasting piping etc. This particular car does not have the ugly Federal dashboard (aka Abington Pillow), side marker lights, headrest, air injection etc. Exterior color (Mineral Blue) and interior colors are original. Car was restored with an eye towards originality with the a few exceptions: Mild Kent "road" camshaft, Triplex "Hotline" rear window from a later model year, genuine period Lucas Silver Lance driving lights, a Nardi steering wheel, single 12v battery. Engine, suspension, transmission, O/D have all been gone thru. The wire wheels were replaced and Vredestein tires (165 R 14) fitted.2,800 miles since restoration, receipts for parts and labor. The car never appears to have been in an accident. This is not your typical woozy, clapped out MG with differed maintenance, No Bondo or rust. Everything works! A book illustrating the restoration is included as well as all receipts. I cannot imagine you finding a nicer or prettier GT at any price. The B/GT is superb and ready for summer driving. Car is located in Portland, Oregon. I reserve the right to end the auction early.Vehicle Details:
