Strong running MkII with gobs of patina.
1968 MG MGB
Here's a great "old shoe" of an MGB. I'm it's second owner.I drove this car about ten miles each wayto work for a few years, nd it almost always put a smile on my face. It's a strong runner. Stillfittedwith its(properly set up!) SU's. Carholds an idle without "hunting" No flat spots. rips to red line.Shifts and stops as it should, lutch is good and electrics are in order except for (no)horns. Moto Lita wheel, uro tail lightlenses, nd LucasPL headlights, hrome wires, replacement non stocktemp and oil pressure gauges. This car is a driver, a ten footer" re- sprayed inblackoriginally primrose. No collision damage, riginal aluminum hood etc. Lots of "patina". This has a Pow'r Pak "factory" rebuild. It's a bit thirstyand requires premium gasoline, ut it's the strongest running B I've everowned and I've hadeasily a half dozen over forty plusyears.
What it needs? Hmmm. I suppose one could argue for a complete restoration! I think that would be a bit of a shame. It sits low, nd rides stiff, like it that way,but you might think aboutrear springs? Some minor rust bubbles mostlydown low on the fenders/rockers, ut it's stilla solid California two owner car, having lived around Santa Cruz, tsnot abucket. Have some spares, plit bow top, ever used it. I drove it as you see it. It's a good ol' MkII, ndI have had a blast with it. Ibought a MBZ "Sport" versionSLK a while back, s my driverand find myself not drivingthe B, don't like cars to sit, o I'm seeking a new home for it.I welcome your inspection.Happy to answer any questions you may have. My starting price leaves me with the minimum, nd if you suspect these cars are now on the upswing value wise, ou might just do alright here.
