Description:
1971 MG MGB
After owning this MG for a number of years when it needed motor work I decided to go all in, so I had the motor rebuilt with all High Performance parts.1800cc 5 main bored .40 over, Ross lightweight pistons, 10.5 to 1 compression, Maxspeeding alloy connecting rods, D Elgin cam 274 degree overlap 58 degree, Heavy valve springs, Double roller cam gear and chain, Weber 45 dcoe Carb., Aluminum flywheel, Stock ignition.
Then I thought I would set it up for a Track Day car so I added a 7/8" front sway bar, a Custom rear sway bar, and VTO rims with Falken Azenis RT615k D.O.T. Comp. tires.
Car still has original lever action shocks, 4 speed trans and rear diff, Front Disc & Rear Drum Brakes.
Seats are from a Pontiac Fiero.
I painted the car in base coat- clear coat and while not professional it is good driver quality (a few chips here and there)
I took it to just a couple of track nites since the new motor and it is an absolute ball to drive.
The car requires Premium Fuel, Idles higher than normal, is very quick, and is very loud (has one small muffler, but I have the bigger mid car muffler you can have).Although it does sound like a proper sports car (race car) it may be too loud for some people.
I have back seat pad and back, front seats (poor condition) and the rear parcel shelf.
I have the front bumper also.
I also have the twin SU carbs with air cleaners and intake and the smog pump.
The car is almost too much motor for the street but I suppose if you added the other muffler and quieted it down some it might not be so obnoxious.
I have more $ invested in the motor than my opening bid, but I just do not have the time to enjoy the car.
