1.8L WITH AN ALUMINUM HEAD, 4 SPEED MANUAL W/ OVERDRIVE, SUPER CLEAN MGB!
1977 MG MGB
When you think of two-seat sports cars, G is the first name to spring to mind. Heck, ven Mazda copied the MGB when developing the Miata, nd this 1977 MGB roadster is an awesome opportunity to own the original. With a very nice restoration a few years ago, t represents fun the traditional British way.The handsome burgundy paint adds a handsome, rown-up look to the slippery MGB shape, nd with the original rubber bumpers replaced with proper chrome pieces, t gives this particular B a fantastic look. This car has received a comprehensive restoration a few years ago and still looks great, ith a nice shine and the look of a car that's always been well-maintained. Gaps are awfully good all around, urprising for an MGB which was notorious for haphazard construction, nd the paint is better than any factory MG you've ever seen. It's remarkable what a difference the older style grille and bumpers make, nd it gives this B the look of a much more expensive car. A few other chrome pieces work well with the shiny bumpers, ncluding the rub strips along the flanks, bright windshield surround, nd a proper MG octagon logo on the deck lid. You'll also note the familiar MGB taillights are in excellent condition and the conversion was done right, ncluding the correct small marker lights up front. Inside, he story continues with fresh leather seat covers that were endemic to British sports cars of the era. Most of its siblings got vinyl upholstery, nd again, his one looks and feels like it should cost thousands more than it does. New carpets have been fitted, long with new door panels with speakers for the upgraded AM/FM/CD radio. All the instruments are functional and somehow capture the charm of the Old World better than any modern gauges could and the leather-wrapped wheel feels great in your hands. Things like the dash pad, onsole, nd shifter boot are replacement pieces that are in fantastic condition and there's a neat cup holder setup in the center console that modernizes the car enough to make it practical. Overhead there's a tan convertible top that you can stow from the driver's seat with just one hand for open-air driving on-demand, nd it fits under a black boot for a very clean look. The trunk is beautifully finished as well, ith a full set of carpets and a spare tire cover.MG's peppy and torquey 1.8 liter inline-four delivers enjoyable performance thanks to the MGB's light weight, nd the 4-speed+overdrive transmission is one of the more direct units this side of the aforementioned Miata. You'll be shocked by the restoration, s there are very few MGB engine bays that have enjoyed the full disassembly and detailing that this one received. The engine features proper hardware and finishes wherever possible, nd has been fitted with an aluminum head and downdraft carburetor to improve performance. Just look at how clean the firewall and inner fenders are; have you ever seen an MGB that crisp? Underneath, t's just as good with front disc brakes that do a commendable job and a snarky exhaust system that was one of the things Mazda tried to duplicate. Four recent Dunlop blackwall radials have been fitted to a set of beautiful chrome wire wheels, illing out the wheel wells perfectly. There just can't be many MGBs nicer than this. A lot of British 2-seat fun with all the work already done. Call today!
