Description:

1970 MG MGB GT

Private sale I am not a dealer.
For your viewing pleasure is an extensively original, and documented 1970 MGB GT. This vehicle was found in a garage after being stored for over 20 years in the same town it was sold in. Originally sold new at Oliver C Joesph here in Belleville, Illinois this vehicle still retains its numbers matching drivetrain, knock off wheels, knock off spare, and tool kit. The interior of the vehicle is in great shape for its age with no major rips in the carpet or seats. It must be noted that there is a small rip in the drivers seat but is no longer than a 1/8 of an inch there is also a slit in the drivers door panel which will require replacement. The exterior of the vehicle retains its original green color but is showing its age and will require a respray or restoration. From what the original owner stated her husband had patched the lower rockers, wheel wells, around the rear of the vehicle, and a few other places on the car in 1991 and was blended with the paint.
This is evident and can be seen in the photos above.
Extensive documentation was kept for this vehicle. Included in the sale is the original owners manual with the stamp of sale at Oliver C Joesph, MG'S version of the protecto-plate all service records and receipts dating back to the mid 70s, along with the previous owners note book on services preformed. After the purschase of the MGB the previous owner took automotive classes at the local college to understand how to work on this vehicle, these notes are also included in the sale.
The vehicle is in running condition. Both SU carburetors are present and in working order with their respective air cleaners, however they could be adjusted a little more to be perfect. No odd noises are exhibited from the running gear, and it shifts smoothly through the gears. Brakes are in working order but the rotors should be replaced at sometime and rear drums turned. In the two years I have owned the vehicle I have driven it around the block a few times and it is a pleasure to drive. Although it does start, run, idle, drive, and stop the vehicle should be trailerd as it has been sitting for quite some time.
This would be an absoutly perfect candidate for a concourse restoration as being extensively documented as it is. I had plans to restore the vehicle, but time is not on my side and I would like to see it go to a buyer with alloted time to make it perfect. I have attempted to be as honest and accurate in this description as I could be.
