1973 MGB, Very nice car no rust, well serviced, NO RESERVE
1973 MG MGB
Here is a very, very nice and well cared for 1973 MGB Roadster, originally from California and garaged when here. 156k miles and running great.
There are 3 kinds of MGs out there
1) The nult and bolt restoration, very nice, very expensive
2) the very good to excellent driver
3) the time bomb, usually low miles a car that has been sitting and ignored for 25+yrs and will need work.
A word about miles, I see MGs advertised with "50k 60k" etc. first of I highly doubt it, they usuall are on their 9th owner and odometers and cable are easily switched and replaced....2nd if so, that means the car has been sitting for a loooooong time and will need substantial work, talk to any technician, the worst thing for any car is to sit.
This is a bona fide 2 owner car, that has been serviced properly and upgraded/restored along the way.
It had an engine rebuild at about 125k.
It has been driven about 3500 miles a yr
This is an excellent driver.
There is No rust and never has had any, has had one quality respray, and in the last 3-5k miles it has had.
New starter
New altenator
radiator fully recored
new hoses, clamps
oil faithfully changed.
How do I know all this...it is my car and has been kept right and tight.
Body is in fine condition, just a few minor chips here and there, paint is very good.
Chrome bumpers are clean glass and lenses are too.
Finished in the uncommon Damask Red and this is the only yr it came with Navy interior not black.
Interior is clean and has been well kept, the seats are in very good shape so is the dash, has a professionally installed Kenwood sound system with am/fm cd player.
The lights work, both low and hi beam
the horn works
the wipers work, both speeds
the directionals work ( sometimes intermittent, hey its an MG.) even the fan works.
Top is clean and in very good shape.
Comes with tonneau cover and full spare.
Driving this one is where it is at, very well maintained, oil pressure goes right up, clutch is tight, smooth at all speeds, brakes are strong, so is the exhaust and tires.
Fresh oil change.
New Battery
New Spark Plugs
2 owner car.
Overall a sound 8/10 and more importantly solid all over and underneath.
Comes with original books and manuals.
They don't come along like this too often.
I have seen cars like this sell for the 9-10k range and did not have the history this one does.
Thanks for looking.
