1964 MG Midget

Up for sale is my 1964 MG Midget Mark II. It's a UK spec with right hand drive. I was military and stationed in England from 2010-2013. I brought it back to the states at the end of my tour. The UK registration number is 792 TDV. If you look around the internet you'll find old pictures of it in Wales.
It was restored in 1999. It's a fantastic car and great looking. I won the 1st place British Car Class and President's Trophy (best of show) at the very first show we took it to. People love this car and appreciate everything being so original. The owner prior to me only took it out for car shows and also won lots of trophies.
If you're looking to get into classic British cars, this is it. You don't see right hand drive cars for sale in this country very often. Easy to work on and lots of available parts. The Mark II has the best of everything (at least to me). It's a true roadster but also has roll up windows. And it has the 1099cc motor, which is my favorite. It also has the front discs.
According to UK Ministry of Transportation, the 35,928 miles is correct and original. The previous owner stated the motor has never been rebuilt so you need to use lead additive in the tank. The car is still wired positive ground and has the original generator. It runs great and shifts the all the gears smoothly. I put in a new brake and clutch master cylinder. The front calipers and brake lines are also new. The previous owner put in the brake booster.
The interior is in extremely good condition. The door cards, seats and carpet look like new. The steering wheel is the original and there are no cracks (the advantage of sitting in a garage in England most of it's life). The top looks like new and really hasn't been on the car much. It also has a right hand drive tonneau cover which is what I generally use. The only issue is the trim around the back of the cockpit need to have new vinyl (pictured).
The body and chrome look fantastic. The only issue is a small bubble on the trunk but the inside of the trunk is perfectly clean. The headlights are still UK spec (pointed to the left) so if you plan on driving it at night much you might want to put some US spec lights in.
Most common question I get is which side is the gas pedal on? It's the same as any other car. Clutch on the left, brake middle, gas on the right. The only difference in driving is the gear shift is on the left and the indicators are on the right side of the steering wheel. Driving is easy because it's such a small car, you get used to it fairly quick.
The car comes with the original number plate and all the badges on the front (with the exception of the Scottish Association of Motorists badge). There's no requirement for front plates in Alabama so I drive around with it on there. I'm also including copies of the V5, a very nice 1964 MG Midget brochure, and the last MOT tax stamp. It also comes with Accuspark electronic ignition and coil, and lots of miscellaneous gaskets.
Since it's been back in the US, I've only put about 1000 miles on it. I have a full time job and also run a business. I just haven't had time to enjoy it. Now, I've got another job offer in another state and don't have a place to store it there.
$1000 deposit within 48 hours. Transportation arrangements are up to you but I will be more than willing to help out with anything to get it to you. It's registered in Alabama and all import fees have already been paid. I'm starting the auction at a very low $6500 and there's no reserve. Whoever wins the auction gets it. The auction ends August the 5th at 8:30 PM CST.
