1979 MGB - Number Matching and Survivor Original Condition
Up for auction is our 1979 MGB 4-speed manual non-overdrive. This MGB is a survivor with minimal signs of rust in the usual places like the rocker panels (see pictures). Just recently it has been driven 70+ miles to Boulder, CO and back on the freeway at 65 mph.
It is not a perfect vehicle as you would expect for original condition. The seats have some tears and are currently outfitted with Lamb seat covers. There is a crack in the dash and the convertible top will need to be replaced as the top and back window are no good. Thecarburetor while functional could use to be rebuilt as the auto-coke is not functioning and the linkages are worn.
All the above said, it starts right up and has been in our family for the last 5 years along with our 1976 and 1973 race car.
NOTE: Rims in pictures do not come with car. A set of silver dish wheels with aftermarket wires come with it.
