MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this extremely rare and original 1953 MG TD. This highly desirable British Racing Green roadster residing with the same family for twelve years, absolutely defies it’s age, and even in it’s original un-restored condition, shows very strong. The previous owner did install a new top, exhaust, fuel lines and electric pump. In addition to that, all new rubber items, carpeting, alternator, water pump, generator, belts, hoses and fuel tank were cleaned and sealed. The previous owner stated that when they found the car it had just 4000 original miles on the car. We do not have the documentation as such, but the originality. fit and finish should testify to their claim. At 6,775 miles on the clock now, the car purrs like a sewing machine.

MG is a British automotive marque registered by MG Car Company Limited MG Car Company Limited, a British sports car manufacturer begun in the 1920s. The MG T series is a range of body on frame convertible sports cars that were produced by MG from 1936 to 1955. The series included this MG TD midget model.

Finished in a British Racing Green, this British roadster shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present and is brilliant. The optional front and rear bumpers (equipped with over-riders) fit is extremely tight and show well. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or major signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The steel wheels represent well with no major signs of marring or curb rash. The new tan canvass convertible top fits very well, the rear window is clear. The tan factory window skirts with Plexiglas fits and look good, functioning well as designed.

Inside, the tan bucket seats and rear cargo compartment and all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The matching tan door panels, carpet are a striking contrast to the green exterior of the car and look fantastic. The original gauges are ergonomically place have correct appearance and function as originally designed, tachometer is inoperable. The original equipped “Banjo” style steering wheel is in very good condition, horn is inoperable. The dark walnut colored dashboard completes the period feel. The windshield wipers are inoperable.

This nicely represented MGA is equipped with a 1.3L (XPAG) inline 4 cylinder engine, dual SU semi-down draft carburetors, 4-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, a rigid rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and drum brakes. Factory 15 inch steel wheels with chrome MG logo center caps.

This “barn find” or should we say “Carriage house find” MG TD epitomizes the sports car scene in England’s in the early fifties when this roadster was one of the most recognizable figures in Britain! GET OUT AND DRIVE!
