1941 Mercury Other
This is by far the best body ive seen on any75 yr old car .I bought the car from the Sacramento Ca area a little over a year ago from a 75 yr old gentleman who had known of the car for years . The story I was told was that the car had never left Cal its entire life had been someones driver from41 to 48 at that point was used as drag car until 63 at which they put the nailhead and hydro matic 4 spd auto in ca, hey had an experimental intake on car tha ran a rear cylinder lean and burned up valves and hole in piston .At that point thegentleman I bought car from acquired it . From that point on thru the years he started the job of making this car one of the best authentic period cars out there . I not sure where to start except to say that ive been over every inch of this car and the metal in this car is in greatcond it has a bitchin firewall and front floor section has been added not because it needed it but because it needed the clearance in firewall and trans hump. The floors and trunk are in great con, the body and what little bodywork that's been done on car is very nice .The frame has been completely gone thr, has a 2 inch drop axle with disc brake conversion remote mount power brake booster. all new brake lines and hose, new original fuel tank with new sending unit new fuel line and filter can all new body mounts and bolts like new tire with porta wall white walls . has a Chrysler 308 rear end car was set up too be a hwy cruiser .Now to the motor I have some of the documentation on work and parts used in moto, the motor started life as a 1955 buick 322 that has been bored has been balanced and blue printe, im not sure of bore but said to have high dome piston has adjustable rocker on 401/425 heads with hardened seats installed, as a c&r custom grind camshaft has original 322 intake with a 650 Edelbrock carb has electronic ignition. polished show chrome valve cover power steering .The trans is a completely rebuilt 1955 olds 55r 4 spd slant pan trans with custom bell housing and mount with mini high torque starter and after market universal shifter . All of the dash components has been rebuilt in 12 vol, dash has been all repainted and plastic pieces replaced .All the windows and regulators work as they shoul, with the exception of the rear window that I haven't yet purchase, the curved green glass for rear window is 250.00 with new gasket . .The things I knowthe car will need is finish wirin, hood gap adjustment door strike adjustmen, rear glass and instal, he trans has a leak in torque gaske, I have the gaske, t will need interior finished ive had the seat redone but will need headliner and maybe door and sail panels to your likin, spent 500 on von dutch style pinstriping and rat fink ogo their is so much more im sure im forgetting but give me a call maybe there are some more questions I can answer .JUST SO WE ARE CLEAR THER HAS BEEN IN EXCESS OF 25000 SPENT ON KEEPING THIS CAR PERIOD CORRECT, my name is Rich my no is 314 704 4210 thanks and good luckVehicle Details:
