1968 Mercury Montego MX
1968 Mercury Montego MX in nice condition with 83,000 miles. 302V8. Mostly original in and out. Well-maintained with many new parts. Runs and drives. No cracks in glass. No tears in seats or carpet. Couple small holes in headlines, but overall excellent, tight condition. Four matching two year old radial tires are excellent with a lot tread. Old (might be original) bias ply spare in trunk. Plus two unmounted cooper tires with good tread. Body has a few dings and blemishes cosmetically, but overall, excellent. Small rust spot (size of quarter) on passenger quarter panel. Left rear door had repair work done by prior owner and was resprayed from front door to rear quarter. Paint quality is excellent, but shade match is not perfect. Quality vintage 8 track player in excellent working condition. Passed MD state inspection in 2020. Overall, this is a great car, in amazing condition for its age, that I have used as a daily driver. Regrettable sale. Moving out of state. Cannot take the Mercury. Listed locally. Happy to answer any questions.
*NOTE: I restarted this auction because I made a mistake in the original description. The car has a REBUILT title. The titling service could not determine the reason for this. The car passed Maryland State Inspection in 2020 after I purchased it from New Jersey and drove it to Maryland.I drove it back and forth to work for a year and still drive regularly. I have had the car maintained by a local mechanic. It is in amazing condition for its age, but it is almost 60 years old and does need occasional work. I recently noticed a vibration in the steering. Mechanic suggested possible alignment issue. I have been preoccupied with my move and have not had time to address it. Again, happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
