1967 Mercury Monterey Sedan Green RWD Automatic Breezeway 390 V8 engine
1967 Mercury Monterey Breezeway
I got thecar from the owner over a year ago. He had the motor rebuilt over 15 years ago, drove a few times, and let it sit for all those years. I got a car, cleaned allthe trash, and ran it. The engine sounds great, no smoke. The car has no brakes;I replaced the master cylinder and brake booster. . I cleaned most of the surfacerust from underneath and sprayed some undercoat. Sanded the car down to metalon most of it and primed and painted it with single-stage paint. There are acouple of runs, but the color looks OK. I covered seats with seat covers andput marine carpet on the floor. I used seat upholstery for the headliner. I hada new fuel pump, water pump, plugs, wire, cap, rotor, and fuel tank. I use agallon gas container under the hood to fuel the car. The tank is good; I didnot know how long the car would sit, so I did not put gas in the new tank. The vehiclewill need a brake job. The radiator has a small leak; the transmission was drywhen I got it. I put some in, and it moves forward and reverses. I made it lookdecent. It's a Breezeway, meaning the rear glass can partially come down. I didnot mess with it. V8 390 motor. Less than 500. Miles on rebuilt engine. The caris located in Frost. Tx.
Thetires are no good. I Had the brake checked, and it has two new calibers on the back,no brake fluids are flowing to the brakes. It will need the brake proportioningvalve replaced. The hubcaps and all emblems are in the truck.
