For your consideration is this hard to find 1961 Mercury Monterey convertible! It is a factory black with red interior! The car has its original Z-code, 300 horsepower 390 and a 4 speed transmission! There has been considerable work done to the car to get it road worthy, however it is not there yet. The brake system has been replaced and updated with a split master cylinder and power booster. It also has a new gas tank installed. The 390 starts and runs, I have only driven it around the lot. The tires are old and not road worthy.

The black paint has been buffed and is mostly original with plenty of patina. The passenger front fender and lower quarters have been repaired before. The original chrome is presentable. The power top frame is complete, it does not work and needs a new top installed. I have not had the top frame up. There is some rust in the car, the drivers rear quarter is the worst. The floor pans and trunk have been repaired.

The seats have been re upholstered, the dash pad and carpet has been removed. A new trunk mat has been installed as well.

The car was originally equipped with a 3 speed manual, it was converted to a T10 4 speed at some point in its past! The 4 speed seems to be good. The shifter has a very close shift pattern.

This is a hard to find 61 Mercury Convertible that is at a good point. The new owner can do a little more work and have a fun driver as is or continue with a full restoration! This car is not road worthy and needs to be trailered. The tires are not safe for road use.
