Description:

1966 Mercury Comet

This car is not very common, not really rare, like $100,000 rare. But according to mercurystuff.com, there were only 3922 of these made in 1966. The Caliente trim package included both upper and lower body chrome and well as some addition interior trim.
Hagerty's website has this car valued at $23,500 listed in "Good" condition.

This color combination (red on red) was used in Mercury's poster advertising. So if you have seen that poster oneBay, you've seen this car.

Car paint stripped and repainted in 2014-2015. Replaced carpet, seat covers and door panels. Replaced convertible top is hydraulic and works. Fuel tank was cleaned and etched. Not a Concours restoration. You can drive this car to local car shows!
Original V8 289 engine, replaced 2 bbl Holley carburetor, 3-speed automatic transmission, manual steering, drum brakes.
New fuel pump, new alternator, new battery.
Interior lights work. Turn signals work.Tires are good, replaced in 2012, but very little mileage on them. All original style hubcaps are in place.AM Radio works (albeit, not a lot of analog AM channels these days.) Has original seat belts in place. Dashboard functions, speed, fuel, temp, etc. all work.
(horn doesn't work, probably needs contact repair)
