1950 Mercury M74 Coupe

This car is the exact reason the custom car scene is so hot. This 1950 Mercury Eight M74 coupe is a custom build that borrows all the best pieces from cool classics and expertly integrates them onto an iconic lead sled. And more than just an awesomely sleek body, everything from the show-stopping V8 to the custom A/C interior makes this a thoughtful automotive work of art.
The Mercury Eight is the ultimate custom dream for many of us, and so it's always awesome to see when someone takes the time to get it looking right. Plus, painting it matte blue is a masterstroke of individual flair. There was a lot of custom work that went into this one. The first obvious investment was expertly chopping inches out of the roof to make it look like it was born with this sleek style. And there was another key investment in this two-door. The M74 is a four-door sedan body. All the sedans and coupes had the same length and wheelbase, and so you just now have a smaller front door to swing - a feature few people will recognize, but makes it easier to get out at a cruise-in. Getting a lead sled right means adding sleekness with frenched headlights, shaved door handles, shaved trim, full rear fender skirts, and Cadillac bullet taillights in a frenched housing. There's all the right brightwork with the glowing Mercury grille, well-tucked bumpers, and a nice bullet style front wheel covers. And we love the integration of white against the blue. Not only do you have it in the multi-color pinstriping front & rear, but also there are side stripes that look like it's coming off the whitewall tires. This one is so detailed, you get goth lake pipes and fish tails for your exhaust!
Pop the remote door opener on the key fob, and get ready to show off the thoughtfulness that went into this gray and white interior. The split bench is nicely upholstered, and it has a movable cup holder center console. The rear even gets the same comfortable setup. This color theme is continued on the two-tone door panels, plush carpet, and smooth dash. And speaking of dash, there's an artful blue pinstriping that helps unite the exterior and interior. While this one is built to have a classic custom style, right down to the flames on the gearstick, it also has the right well-integrated modern features. This includes cold-blowing R134a air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo w/aux input and Bluetooth. And while you have a cool/classic two-tone steering wheel, it's mounted on a tilt column to give you a great view of the Classic Industries gauges.
The engine bay likes to get shown off, too. The clean inner fenders and firewall funnel your attention to the V8 in the middle. And this has great custom details, like the metallic blue valve covers and matching air grabber with full hood-matching pinstriping. So this was a thoughtful and coordinated look from the exterior, to the interior, to the engine bay! This is a later model 350 cubic-inch V8. It's built for power and usefulness with features like the Holey four-barrel carburetor, headers, electronic ignition, serpentine belt system, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to keep the full package running cool. And since you'll want to show this off everywhere, they made sure this was a true easy driver. It includes a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front.
A strong-running and award-worthy custom like this doesn't come available very often. So if you want an icon with true distinction, call today!
