1974 Mercury Capri. I have to part with this project due to rapidly failing health. I simply cannot finish it. I bought the car to do Autocross with the Akron Sportscar Club, at the Slalom track they have at Dragway 42 here in NE Ohio. I bought it with no drivetrain or interior, from a fellow who was going to drag race it. It Runs, Drives, and Stops. Needs adjustable brake bias knob set, wheel alignment, and boost set via wastegate before it can be driven any distance, plus some minor reassembly, so bring a trailer...you're not driving it home. Body has had metal welded in where rust was cut out, and then fiber glassed over. That's as far as I'm able to go with it. Could be easliy made street legal by finishing up the install of some lights and bumpers. Freshly rebuilt Ford 2.3 Turbo engine with ported head, port matched manifolds, and Ranger Roller Cam, retarded 6 degrees. Front Mounted Intercooler. New Garret T3/T4 hybrid turbo,LA3 Ford Computer with Octane selector switch. Donor car was a 1988 Ford Thunderbird TurboCoupe. Runs strong and pulls hard. Borg Warner World Class T5 Transmission, Ford Motorsport Clutch, Narrowed Ford 8.8" Disc Brake Rear end with 4.10 ratio and new Ford Motorsport Limited Slip Clutch Pack installed.New custom Driveshaft with new U Joints, Trunk mounted Fuel Cell and Battery, 4 Point Cage, Procar Seats, Simpson Camlock drivers side harness with anti sub. GPS speedometer, Bosch wideband 02 and AFR gauge, new KONI SPORT front strut inserts, KYB rears. Front and rear swaybars. Aluminum V8 radiator and overflow tank, with a big electric fan and adjustable controller. Rebuilt steering rack with new dust boots and tie rod ends. $800 worth of new aluminum rims and new Nitto & Falken 15" tires. More...I'm probably forgetting some stuff. I put a lot of time and money in it...was prepping it for paint when I got sick. Can't finish it. Clean, transferrable Ohio Title in hand, and in my name.
