First year for MercuryAwesome barn find
This 39 Mercury is just out of a private collection of many years kept stored inside! This is also the first year Mercury made a vehicle. This car originated in Kansas and is super solid! It has a rebuilt Flathead 8 cylinder that runs. After being removed from storage, we put in a new 6 volt battery and she turned right over using some fuel to start it.The car is rust free with the exception of where a battery sat in the trunk and left a spot of rust about 3”x3”. The floors and underneath are great! The interior is complete and still has the courtesy lights on the door posts. It has a visor mirror on the sun visor and an old compass on the dash (navigation! Lol). The windows roll up and down and the back quarter wing glass still swings out. The glass is discolored but is all flat so it isn't expensive to replace. The horns work also. Doors shut very nice and all the trim is there. All of the hubcaps are on the car and it has all 5 of it's original artillary wheels. All the tires are holding air and it rolls freely. This car would be a very easy start to a restoration or even a hot rod project. I think it would look awesome lowered and driven as is! The brakes will need to be done and I am sure the fuel system to be flushed to get it road worthy for a start. You are welcome to check the car out in person, or have someone look for you, prior to bidding as your opinion could vary. This is a rare find in this condition and certainly worth owning as a piece of history being the first year for Mercury! This would make an awesome lead sled!! Or even a car for the purist. This is a Buy It Now or best offer auction so no need to wait and miss out. Overseas buyers are welcome. We can also help arrange shipping.
