IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NICE CLASSIC CAR IN GOOD CONDITION AND A LITTLE DIFFERENT, "THIS COULD BE THE ONE". The car is rock solid, laser straight body with brilliant black paint, sweet running 289 cubic inch engine that improved and rebuilt, good shifting C4 automatic transmission, interior is in very good condition, nice wheels,... good tires, drives very good, stops like it should and things work. HOW IS THE BODY, IS THERE ANY RUST? All the body panels look original to me, if they have been replaced the job was professional. No rust bubbles in the paint, no rusty holes or rust bubbles on the under-side. The sub frames look very solid, drop downs nice, painted under side, no under coating, you can see the condition of the metal. Not detailed for show, but nice, I do see a little thin paint in spots. WHAT IS THE HISTORY? Car was built in Atlanta, Georgia. Past owner said it lived in Georgia and sold here in Tennessee. Sorry, but thats all I can tell you. Past owner said the car had original miles showing of 52175. I cannot prove this, but the car sure looks like it could be true. HEADLIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! INTERIOR DOME LIGHT WORKS! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! OIL AND TEMP LIGHTS WORK! ORIGINAL RADIO WORKS! WIPERS WORK! HOW IS THE PAINT? I consider it super nice paint on a straight body! I see no dents, no dings, no rust bubbles and the shine is very good. The body is very straight down the sides. The shine is very good, very few swirl marks and very little orange peel. Most car guys would consider the black paint very nice. I guess you could polish and buff more, but it satisfies me and I'm pretty picky. UP GRADES: Aluminum radiator, rebuilt engine with a mild cam, World Casting heads (Windsor Jr), electronic ignition, Flame Thrower coil, better plug wires, Edelbrock carburetor, aluminum intake, die cast valve covers, chrome headers, dual exhaust, good deep sounding mufflers. HOW IS THE ENGINE? It runs strong, it starts good, I hear no knocks or rattles and see no blue smoke. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a C4 automatic, it shifts good and I feel no slip. It does have a stall converter, this list the engine not die at low RPMs with the mild cam. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Very good, nice headliner, no wear at all on the seat covers, carpet good, dash pad has no cracks, door panels original, but very good. HOW IS THE CHROME? Nice and shinny chrome with no rust. HOW IS THE GLASS? Clear glass, no bubbles, not milky, no wiper marks on the windshield, no stone chips, the side windows roll up and down good. HOW ARE THE WHEELS AND TIRES? I don't know what Mercury calls these wheels, but they look like the Mustang Magnum 500s with Mercury centers. They are nice, I did see one small dual spot on a inside groove. Tires are BF Goodrich with the white letters turn in, lots of tread left on them. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? I consider it a very good driver, it drives straight down the road with no vibrations. It is not power steering, drives easy on the road and heavy parking. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? Good, it is drum brakes and stops good, they are not power. WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303.
