Description:

1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7

Up for auction is a extremely rare 1969 Cougar XR-7. Two owner car since new. Vehicle is equipped with a (M code) 351 4 barrel carburetor, factory 4 speed, factory 3.25 locking rear differential, power steering, power front disc brakes, remote side view mirror. Factory paint code (6) is a rare Cougar color.

Vehicle was repainted years ago and it is showing its age. There is body rust and scratches and dings (see pics).

The undercarriage has rot in torque boxes and front floors that will need to be repaired. The rest of the undercarriage is solid. The original interior is in decent overall condition. It appears the driver seat was redone in vinyl not leather.

Vehicle has new brakes, calipers, wheel cylinders, battery and fuel tank was flushed. The original 4 barrel intake and carb was upgraded years ago to a 4 barrel edelbrock intake and carburetor and headers with duals. Vehicle was originally equipped with dual exhaust. I do not have the original intake, carburetor or exhaust manifolds. Vehicle runs and drives extremely well. I believe the 2nd gear synchros are going because sometimes its difficult to get it into 2nd gear.

The speedometer currently isn't working the cable was resting on the header and melted it. Mileage is showing 126,998.
