1972 Mercury Cougar --

The Mercury Cougar initially hit the market in 1967 and was based on the Ford Mustang. Mercury finally gained its own Pony car and was an instant hit. The second generation hit the market in 1971 and was a bit larger and was closer in size to its main GM competitors such as the Olds Cutlass. They were available with a range of V8 engines and were quite popular, with 180k sold from 1971 till 1973. GR Auto Gallery is... pleased to present this nice and simple Cougar convertible for your consideration. Finished in a classic shade of Bright Red, this Cougar definitely catches the eye. The exterior is in great shape, with great overall paint accented by white pinstriping, alloy wheels, great chrome, nice convertible top, tonneau boot cover and chrome side exhaust pipes. The interior is decent and features white vinyl seats that unfortunately have some large cracking. Dash is cracked and there is some paint loss on the door cards. The car features wood look facia trim, air conditioning, and a JVC stereo. The rear seats are in great shape. This car features the solid 351 Cleveland V8 engine mated to the usually automatic transmission and is a solid runner. The current owner claims that the vehicle has all new brakes, transmission pan gasket, and new tie rod ends. The car is a solid runner that needs just a bit of TLC to make her into a beauty queen. An easy and affordable way to get into classic car territory! To see over 80 photos of this car, including undercarriage please visit our website
