1947 Mercury full custom street rod/show car street rod/hot rod

No reserveauction for a full custom show car and street rod restoration project. This car was originally a very high dollar custom pro build. It is a bad-to-the-bone screamer with looks to match. After a few years of showing and driving, it has been neglected and needs repaint, some restoration, and some assembly. Quality components throughout. Most of the parts to complete this restoration are included with the sale.

BODY: Nice rust free straight body that is completely customized including shaved trim, molded in fenders, frenched in lighting and license plate, pancaked hood, hidden door hinges, electric door poppers, chopped top, full radius trunk, custom integral front and rear bumper skirts, custom shark tooth grill, custom cowl and windshield, custom wipers, custom rear fender wells and tubs, power front windows, custom trunk mounted fuel cell and battery box. Here is what it needs: new battery, rear quarter windows, door mirrors, body and paint work. The original metalized filler has cracked in a few places, there is a dent in the passenger side corner of the front bumper skirt, and minor defects in the hood. Full repaint. Most of the wiring is good, however, is will require some repair and completion. Note: Included with the parts is a pair of Lincoln Zepher tail lights, if buyer prefers them over the original frenched cat-eyes.

TOP: Custom tan colored Hartz cloth top fabric. The custom bows will need re-fitting to close correctly. It will need some latch hardware for the connections at the top of the windshield frame. Some of the back snap buttons will need replacing but are included.Buyer maywant to replacethe pair of hydraulic cylinders with the correct open-close length.

INTERIOR: Tan leather with black carpet. Not perfect but shows well. The front seat is a power bench tilt style. It has a custom tilt steering column with Grant allow wheel. The dash look good and features custom gauges and switches. A new clove box is included but will need to be installed.

DRIVE TRAIN: Very rare 1968 Corvette big block 427 engine modified with cam, roller rockers, MSD ignition, ceramic coated headers, rare Edelbrock "Angle-Torker"intake with 750 cfm carb, and hi-po heads. The intake and engine accessories are all show quality polished alloy. They were removed for detailing and will need to be re-assembled. The engine compartment will need paint. The custom stainless steel exhaust system includes new 3" components, everything is there except thedownpipes. A new chrome cooling fan with custom shroud is included. AN stainless flex lines and fittings are included for accessories and heater connections. The trans is a built turbo 400 with B&M shifter. Custom drive shaft. The rear end is a narrowed 9" with 31 spline heavy axels and a 411 Detroit Locker differential with finned cover.

FRAME & CHASSIS: The frame is all custom. It is boxed and cross-membered and includes a drive shaft safety loop. The rear end includes a Pro-Street Art Morrison suspension with ladder bars, panhard bar, coil over shocks, and Wilwood disc brakes. Cables will need to be added to operate the parking brakes. The front suspension clip is an Fat Man brand unit with tubular A-arms, disc brakes, coil over shocks, and Mustang-11 power rack and pinion steering. The front section of the frame, suspension, and fender wells will need to be cleaned, detailed, and painted for show.

WHEELS & TIRES: The 15" wide rear Mickey Thompson tires look good, but the frontsmay need replacing due to age cracks. The wheels are Center-Line Drag Star aluminum. The rears will need a deep polish to remove some pitting.
