Check out this beautiful 1940 Mercury two-door convertible! The Mercury eight was produced from 1939 through 1951, it was discontinued in 1952. Mercury's motto with with these cars was "The car that truly dare to ask why" The flathead V-8 produce 95 hp and boasted up to 20 miles per gallon of which very few cars of this era in size could produce these type of numbers.This 1940 Mercury eight was restored some years back and is a very beautiful and this vehicle is road ready. The steering and the brakes and the engine are all in fantastic working shape. All of the gauges work and the only modernupgrade on this vehicle is in electric fuel pump which is an excepted upgrade due to the lack of mechanical pumps working efficiently. The interior of this car is very clean and ready for your weekend car shows! All of the trim pieces that are in chrome are in fantastic condition, the bumper caps in the front and the rear are in perfect condition and have the three stripes which was the mercury trait. The convertible top which does show some signs of aging is still in fantastic condition. The electrical system is still in its original shape as a 6 V system and has not been converted to 12 V.
