1961 Mercury Comet

1961 Comet Project Vehicle. Car was running and driving when purchased 4 years ago. The 144 six was tired and the 2 speed auto slipped, so both were pulled. Current engine is a 200 c.u. six from a 1968 Mustang. Upgrades include, Weber carb and adapter, long tube dual exhaust headers. A new HEI distributor is included, (not installed). A 67 model C4 trans is included, (not installed).
All lights, turn signals, horn,heater, wipers, etc, all worked. Brakes were functional, with some new hardware, but needs further work. A later model dual reservoir master cylinder is included, (but not installed).
Body of this car is straight, with no major dents, but does have places with bubbling and rust through as shown in photos. All glass is good and clear. Floor pans are good and have been cleaned, painted and insulated. Trunk floor has rust areas around the gas tank.
Frame is solid and suspension has new shocks all around. Car has been lowered using new coil springs in front and lowering blocks in rear. Stock dog dish hubcaps and wire styled wheel covers included.
Front bench seat has been replaced with later model buckets. Rear seat is original, but worn. Door and side panels are original. Dash is nice with rear radio delete plate installed.
4 new 175/80/13 tires were put on 2 years ago and have 0 miles. 1 has cracked due to sitting, but holds air still.
Please Note: The car has a Massachusetts title, signed by the previous owner. Some states don't require titles for car this age. "Please check your Dmv regulations before bidding!!
