HISTORY OF CAR SINCE NEW
I bought car on 12/19/2012 from the deceased original owner's family with 76,803 ORIGINAL miles on car. It was purchased brand new by the owner in 1984. The car was put into a "Living Trust" in 2004 by the owner to protect her estate assets from probate upon her passing. I am the SECOND OWNER.
I have owned the car from 2012 to the present (2017). I have put less than 700 miles in total on the vehicle in the 5 years I've owned the car. Please see the odometer's reading which has some miles added to the amount since I took the photo.
I simply LOVE the experience of driving one of these old vintage "Land Yachts" with the superb "Sailing Like Ride on Landâ€that they have which no new car could ever duplicate!!!
The car is extremely reliable, always starts no matter how long I let it sit, but I only feel the urge to go for a drive once in a great while, so this explains the less than 700 miles that I've driven in 5 years.
I never intended to sell the car, but do the minor body work it needs as the minor level of work was something I could personally do in the driveway if my health improved, but it never has. Back in 2012 I had hoped that my many health conditions would improve, but unfortunately my health has SERIOUSLY deteriorated in the last year and a half instead, so I'll never be able to do the minor body work the car needs as I had planned when I bought the car back in 2012.
In the last 5 years, I've had some major family and friend's deaths along with respective estates I've had to deal with as well, so these events stopped my good intentions concerning the car as well. So at least just for the joy of driving the car, I drove it when I wanted some fun as it is without me doing the minor body work it needs. The next owner will need to handle that.
REPAIR HISTORY OR ITEMS ADDED:
Work I remember having done, I could not do myself. I never kept records as I never intended to get rid of the car. Here are some of repairs I had done from my recollections. Some of these you can actually see, so no paperwork is needed. FYI, due to one of my many health problems, I cannot crawl under a car to do work as I get nauseous. I had hoped to have this condition cured, but alas -- I was not successful.
Replaced standard metal brake lines with EXPENSIVE/PREMIUM nickel-copper alloy brake lines front and rear, so lines will last for decades.
Improved car's "boat like" ride and handling by adding premium Monroe "Coil Over" Load Leveler rear shock absorbers. Car now has the best ride I've ever had in the various "Land Yachts" I've driven over the years. I should of thought of this long ago.
Got All Power Windows & Locks Working - These repairs are very expensive as it involves replacing expensive components (i.e., lock actuators, power window motors, etc.) in each door, as needed, of the car.
Replaced OEM standard metal rims with Mercury Factory OEM Deluxe Alloy Rims. I still have original OEM hubcaps if you want them.
Added separate set of studded snow tires mounted on additional set of Mercury Factory Alloy Rims. Car has a total of 6 (six) Mercury OEM Deluxe Alloy Rims.
Replaced the battery with a unit that was not meant for a 1984 Mercury I had, so you see in the photos that it does not fit properly in the engine compartment, but it works fine.
Replaced one or more exterior chrome door handles. Don't remember any more about these.
Many hours of shop trouble shooting time "searching for electrical gremlins" to get all the lights and electronics working as new once again. This was not "cheap" to have done if you know how many hours such electrical repairs require.
New Windshield Installed: The old windshield cracked about 3 years ago due to the heat & cold. It wasn't a problem, but potential buyers objected to the harmless crack, so I replaced it. No more objections.
REPAIRS NEEDED (Repairs optional, because car can be driven every day as it is):
The A/C system is not operating at the moment. I never addressed this issue to even see if the A/C simply needs re-charging or may need repairs.
The very minor, for a vintage car in Ohio, rust repairs that are needed and pictured in photos. The undercarriage/frame does not have much rust and are in good condition for a car of its age from Ohio. It's in good shape for it's age the garage mechanics who've crawled under it and worked on the car tell me. If you buy the car and disagree, I'll simply refund your money. How much easier can it be than that? If you're unhappy for ANY reason with the car when you inspect the car prior to purchase, I'll simply refund your deposit. Please don't ask for photos of the undercarriage, because of my serious health condition I cannot crawl under a car to take photos. I will get very sick if I do it (I get seriously nauseous!). My health problem(s) are the sole reason why I'm selling the car and cannot do the minor body work it needs. If I can no longer even do this minor body work myself just out of craftsmanship pride, then I want to sell it. Am I clear on this? The car's paint is faded in some sections. You won't know if you can buff out the faded sections to bring them back to the original color until you actually do it. If there's not enough paint left under the oxidized paint sections after buffing, you'll need to repaint as needed.
The car's weathered vinyl top will need to be vinyl "wrapped" to appear as new. My estimate is about $150.00 to do this.
Needs hood ornament and trunk emblem key cover replaced.
One mud flap needs to be re-installed due to rusting or eliminate mud flaps when you do the minor body work.
NOTE: You or your mechanic/representative are welcome to inspect the car before actual purchase when you come to pick it up. Prior to completing the purchase, if you inspect the car and find the car not acceptable for any reason on my property, I'll will fully refund your money if you have already paid or we'll cancel the sale if you have not paid yet. The car is sold "as is", so once you take possession of the car and the car leaves my property, the car is your SOLE responsibility - No refund will be given.

Original red interior in nice physical condition (see photos). Appears to have faded some spots over the years. Can be easily re-dyed (as car detailers & classic car dealers do this to make upholstery appear like new) with easily purchased upholstery dye, so you can do it yourself if you want the seats to be even brighter than they are at present. For me, I thought the seats were fine as they are for an original vintage car.
