1967 Mercury Cougar

1967 Mercury Cougar XR 7 restomod. Car is a real nice driver. Has maybe 60 miles on it since build finish. It was originally black onyx paint, black leather interior, 289 two barrel, 3 speed manual, 3:00:1 open rear, power disc brakes, manual steering, AC car. Marti report says it had an export DSO and closed crankcaes emissions set up for overseas. Never went over. Was a mid west car, then to Vermont, then South Carolina to Pennsylvania. Most work was done by the previous owner who I tracked down and got information emailed to me ( which will be included ). Body seems to be mostly original, new front valance, driver fender was replaced, looks like an front inner fender was welded in and the radiator support worked on, under battery tray has a patch, and front floor patches installed, and a new rear valance. See pictures. New base coat paint, does have some chips but I have touch up for it. Body work is a 8 out of 10. Would have been great if someone block sanded the primer before paint but it does present well. All new front and rear suspension, stock front suspension with performance shocks, rear has aggressive rear leaf springs with performance shocks, four wheel disc brakes, brakes are from a Chevy S-10, aftermarket power booster with proportioning valve, rebuilt 351 Cleveland, 650 Demon carb, edelbrock intake, 2V heads, crane cam, rhoads lifters, msd ignition, hooker headers, runs great, aluminum radiator, late model Ford Automatic Over Drive transmission, converter and shift kit, B+M shifter, linkage for carburetor set up, shifts smooth, sub frame connectors welded in, Chevy 10 bolt posi rear with 3:73 gears and stud girdle, new american racing wheels, rechromed front and rear bumpers, new windshield, new weatherstripping thru out, new door handles, polished moldings, new electric head light conversion replaced the old vacumn system, new electric tail light conversion with sequential lights, real clean original interior with new carpet, new autometer gauges, tape player stereo, original wood wheel, real clean. Hood scoop is now painted flat black. Fresh oil+filter, anti freeze, battery, etc. Just a real nice driver. I like mustangs but am sick of them now. You dont see that many cougars.
