Documented each step of the way, the restoration touched every inch of a very solid California car. Early Cougars are solid values with easy to source Mustang parts. Built to drive in a 2016 environment, this 1970 Cougar Helliminator is ready to Show, Go and Raise some … She’s not just a pretty face. Packed under the hood is a potent and fresh 351 pushing 400 HP through a four speed and spitting out burnouts on demand through a posi rear end. - Rarity Cougars initially were upscale Mustangs with nicer interiors and quieter cabins. You could opt for a bit of fun with a big block or a 4 speed but few people actually did. Those few performance optioned cars are now quite collectible. This original 3 pedal car is one of the rare but attainable hotrod big cats. - Exterior. Fresh Mango Pearl Two stage paint. Clearcoat has been buffed to a high sheen and looks amazing. OEM style Hood scoop, Front Spoiler and stripes in contrasting Satin Black. Custom Helliminator graphics package. Slammed Stance. Excellent panel fit. Excellent glass. Complete Weatherstrip replacement. See the pictures. - Lighting The headlamp vacuum system was completely rebuilt and restored from switch to bulbs. The headlamps function as intended and stay closed when off. The classic sequential tail lights were reconditioned and tinted . The dash circuit board and all of the lamps are new, providing a well lit set of instruments. Custom Helliminator puddle lamps. - Wheels, Tires Massive 20 x 10 rear and 18 x 8 front Chrome American racing Torque Thrust wheels. New Pirelli tires. - Engine Freshly rebuilt 351 Windsor, original to this car and built 30 over with a mild cam. Built to run on today’s unleaded. New hotrod parts including Edelbrock manifold, Holley carburetor, Chrome oil pan, high flow pick up, Flowmasters, Aluminum radiator, water pump, alternator, belts, mounts, everything. All electrical updated as well, alternator, starter, distributor, solenoid and regulator are all new. New hood hinges and springs. The engine bay was completely stripped and detailed while the engine was out. - Transmission Freshly rebuilt Toploader 4 Speed is an upgrade from the standard 3 speed that came with this car. New Borg Warner Clutch, pressure plate, bearing etc. Fresh U-joints. - Braking, Steering The front brake system was upgraded to new power disc brakes with slotted rotors. All 4 new shocks, bushings, etc. The power steering system was rebuilt. All new ram and valves.
