1985 Mercedes 280e W123 Euro 110.988!

1980 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I purchased this nicely preserved 1985 Euro spec 280e several years ago. When I purchased the car, t appeared to have been stored since the early 1990's based on the date codes of the tires (which I replaced given their age). Unfortunately; likely due to extended storage, he M110 engine burns & leaks oil. Regardless, he car is a true pleasure to drive. I've driven it a few thousand miles over the past 3 or 4 years that I've owned it. I am selling the buildign where it is stored, therwise I'd definitely have the valve guide seals replaced, nd drive and keep it forever.
The original smoke silver paint is acceptable, ut is definitely showing "patina". It's possible a wet sand and clear coat is all that's necessary to bring the orignal paint back to showroom. The interior is all original and in beautiful condition. There are no odors, ther than the wonderful aromas of the vintage German materials. The typical fading seen on the carpets and vinyl are not present in this car. The dash is orignal and crack free. The headliner is perfect, ven around the sunroof. All glass is original and in great condition. All chrome and polished aluminum trim is free of pitting, ncluding the Euro bumpers. Clearly, his car seems to have been garaged since new.
The undercarriage is very clean. I have replaced the ball joints.
This is an original rust free car which is most unusual.
Mileage is known not to be accurate, ince odometer was sticking when I purchased car. Odometer turns periodically when driving, hen stalls.
I would not hesitate to drive this car on a cross country trip, o long as the oil level is watched. The M110.988 is the final development of this legendary engine with its more modern fuel injection compared to the earlier carburated cars. Note that this was a gray market car, mported new. I have a clean NC title that will transfer with the car. Looking for a Mercedes enthusiast to bring the engine back to life and enjoy this wonderful car for another 30 years!
