1983 Mercedes-Benz 300CD CDT

My daily driver until November, when the transmission went out; it hasn't been driven since. Well-maintained before that, suspension and brakes are good, no body damage, it's a joy to drive. Transmission must be rebuilt or replaced. Engine starts and is strong; starter is balky, it can take a few jolts from the ignition before the engine turns. "Chinese Red" is MB's term for the color, which looks like maroon to me
