1970 MERCEDES-BENZ 280S W108 Sedan - VIN # 108.016-10-051837 Exterior paint in DB172 Anthracite-Grey Metallic (redone in 05/2015, not flawless but extremely presentable, deep and shines well), interior in dark red MB-Tex (vinyl, usable but old and worn). Eventually, the seat covers and carpet should be replaced - then the car will truly shine! The headliner is good.Euro-version W108 Sedan: -oval Bosch headlights-no ugly side markers-license plate light mounted on the rear bumper-speedometer in km (kilometer).4-speed MANUAL column-shifter transmission (that shifts smooth and the way it should;, new clutch installed in 04/2023).Ivory-colored steering wheel. New Bosch horn (loud, installed in 10/2023).Becker Monza AM-FM radio with cassette (works well), manual antenna. Manual windows (operate smooth). All glass Sekurit except the front windshield (replaced in 12/2018).All switches, lights, knobs, gauges and turn signal handle operate the way they should. The vehicle was purchased by the first owner in Stuttgart in December of 1970, then taken to a nice six weeks road trip through Germany, France and Spain, then shipped from Spain to California, where it lived until Spring of 1994 when it was purchased by the second owner. He then took it with him to his second residence in Colombia, where the vehicle lived until March of 2014 when it returned back to the United States. The vehicle's Title is a clean one from the State of Florida.Never in any type of accident.The vehicle starts, runs and drives the way it should. The motor is strong but quiet, transmission smooth as silk. Carburetors have been rebuilt in 09/2021). The full and proper tune-up is recent (11/2023) and it included the following: all new cooling system hoses, new coolant, oil change, new spark plugs (Bosch 7900), new spark plug wires (OEM Bosch), new cap/rotor/points. The radiator has been flushed and pressure-tested (no leaks).This is a great running/driving vehicle with gorgeous presence. Although cosmetically (mainly seat covers and carpet) it deserves to get some help, mechanically it has been well and properly maintained and it is extremely reliable.
