1969 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 is powered by a 6.3-liter M100 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in metallic beige over dark brown leather. Equipment includes self-leveling air suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, 14″ steel wheels with covers, and a Becker Grand Prix push-button radio. The car was reportedly sold new in Washington and was acquired by the seller in Wisconsin in 2017. The air suspension was refreshed in 2018 and replacement shifter bushings were installed in 2021. This W109 is now offered with owner’s manuals, records beginning in 2002, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Tunis Beige (462), the car features a driver’s side mirror, a telescoping power antenna, a two-tone horn, a rear fog light, and twin polished exhaust outlets. Damage on the left-front door and a chip in the windshield are pictured in the photo gallery.
Steel 14″ wheels wear bright covers with body-color centers and are wrapped in 205/70 Michelin XWX tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The axle valve, main valve, and check valve of the self-leveling air suspension were rebuilt in 2018 by600 AirSuspension of Lincoln, Massachusetts.
The front bucket seats and the rear bench are trimmed in dark brown leather upholstery, and Coco floor mats line the footwells. The front seats were reupholstered and some of the wood trim was replaced or refurbished under prior ownership. The Becker radio was overhauled by Becker Autosound of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and it was fitted with a Bluetooth module and wired to a replacement rear speaker in 2018. A heater cable was replaced in 2021. The air conditioning system is operable but could use a recharge, and flaws in the rear trim are shown below.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer flanked by a 160-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the seller. The speedometer was repaired in 2002, and total mileage is unknown.
The 6.3-liter M100 V8 is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 275 SAE horsepower. Fluid changes have been performed and the battery and fuel lines replaced since 2017.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Replacement shifter bushings were installed in 2021.
