1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Base
1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL. I’ve owned this vehicle for almost 10 years and it’s been very well maintained. Car presents well, drives well and everything works as it should. Paint is very shiny, with only a few scratches that have been touched up. Car has been upgraded with European bumpers, French market H4 headlights with LED bulbs, and a later model 560sl front oem spoiler. Wheels are 17” BBS RS style wheels with Continental Sort Contac tires. New shocks were recently installed and car has been aligned. Interior is all original and has been upgraded with a Nardi wooden steering wheel with a rare Mercedes horn button. Radio is Retrosound Bluetooth unit with upgraded speakers and a small amplified subwoofer in trunk. Power antenna works as it should. There is a dash cap as the original dash has a crack on it. Seats and upholstery is original to the car. The top is in great condition and some of the weather stripping has been replaced. Engine and transmission are original and I’ve maintained it with oem parts. Engine and trans work as they should with no issues. Water pump was replaced and a higher output alternator was installed as well. Cooling fans were upgraded to dual electric units and radiator and overflow were replaced as well. AC works but cools marginally, from new these cars didn’t cool as well as modern cars. Overall it’s a well maintained and presented car.
