1984 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Roadster
Purchased from the widow of the original owner 10 years ago, this 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL R107 Roadster is Astral Silver with a blue interior. We have had our fun, now it is someone else's turn. It has a matching hardtop and manual dark blue soft top. The original convertible top has excellent windows but has two small tears in the fabric due to use. The car is powered by a 3.8 Liter V8 with electronic fuel injection. Heating, Air Conditioning and all mechanical and electrical components function appropriately. Age related minor scratches and cracks in the leather interior or dash. Two small rust areas are located in the right front lower wing panel behind the bumper extension and in the right rear lower valance panel below the bumper and behind the rear tire. An aftermarket wind deflector is mounted behind the front seats creating a virtual wind free driving experience when the top is down. Original Becker Grand Prix Radio works on AM only.
The car starts and drives like a well maintained Mercedes-Benz R107 should. A partial list of mechanical and electrical components replaced over the past several years include: Steering Gear Box, Idler Arms, Tie rods, Front and Rear Shocks, Rear Springs, Radio Antenna Motor, Alternator, Sub-Frame Bushings, Sway Bar and Control Arm Bushings, Radiator Hoses, Belts, Motor and Transmission Mounts, Fuel Accumulator, Fuel Distributor, Driveshaft front and rear Flex Joints, Windshield, Blower Motor, Shift Linkage Bushings, Hood Insulation, Axillary Fan Switch, Thermostat and Radiator Caps, Coolant Sensor, Heater Control Valve, Sun Visors. The battery was replaced in 2020,brake pads, calipersand tires in 2022. Soft top replacement weatherstripping was purchased but not installed.
Always garage kept, the car has been in Florida since 2002. OEM tools, rolling hard top stand, hoist for lifting top to garage ceiling, car cover and hard top covers are included. A color correct Dash Cap is also included.Maintenance records are available.
