1989 Mercedes-Benz 420
For sale is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL (W126), with a green with a tan leather interior, which has been partially restored mechanically, and cosmetically. The car runs and drives well, and has been taken on several long distance road trips.
Mechanical work completed:-New struts, control arms, ball joints, and tie rods.-New air conditioning compressor- R134a retrofit.-New water pump, thermostat, and coolant.-Rear main seal replaced, Transmission resealed.-New center support bearing and flex discs.-New wheels, tires and brake pads/rotors. Front calipers replaced.-Differential, belts, tune up, and oil service completed.-Becker Grand Prix restored and upgraded with Bluetooth module.-Replaced front bumper chrome, and headlight covers.-Replaced grille and hood ornament.-New foam hood pad.-Replaced odometer wheel after purchase, so mileage is approximate.-New motor and transmission mounts installed.-Valve cover gaskets replaced.
The paint is in good shape for its age, but does have some spots that show wear. There are some dents and scratches, but the car still shows well. The interior is in good condition as well, but the wood trim is showing some wear. The car needs some additional work but would a great rolling restoration project.
Includes two (2) keys.
Additional work needed:-Cruise Control doesn't work- needs diagnosed and repaired.-Front dashboard speaker needs replaced.-Small tear on rear bench seat.-Antenna doesn't work, but will include replacement.-Needs new fuel filter, will include replacement filter.-Needs new sway bar links, will include replacement parts.-Driver side key slot doesn’t work, car is locked/unlocked using passenger door or trunk.-Has a dent on the passenger side doors.
