1973 Mercedes-Benz s-class 280 SEL 4.5 W108
1973 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series SEL 4.5
1973 W108 280 SEL 4.5 Mercedes Benz
I purchased the Benz from the original owner’s family in Texas back in 2019. It was part of his classic Mercedes collection that they were selling for him. He was meticulous as seen in the handwritten log that will come with the sale. It's probably the 9th W108/W109 I've owned and it's been well taken care of. I've driven this few thousand miles during my ownership along with a few other classics I enjoy.I would not hesitate to drive it cross-country tomorrow. It'sa head-turner and brings a lot of people joy to see it on the road. Especially with a car full of kids. Why am I selling it?I'm selling it so I don't lose it on one of my kids for being a kid, lol!I have 3 teens and they don't mix well with a 50-year-old classic.

Good:
-New interior seat covers (a few of the cushions have fallen out of place)
-New Battery
-New front and back window seals
-Coco Mats
-Full Tool Kit
-Set of 5 color-matched hub caps
-New front passenger caliper
-New refurbished fuel injectors.
-Replaced ECU
-Upgraded driving lights to H4
-Hidden Stereo glove box/Small sub/hands-free (sounds fairly good)
-Rebuilt engine 1989 for 7k
-Original Becker Stereo fully functional
-Refurbished radiator
-New hood pad
-New Spark plugs and wires
-Fully functional HUGE sunroof
-All gauges work
-Heater works
-Has AC
Need attention but not urgent:
-Small leak in steering box (comes with a spare one that can be rebuilt with the kit)
The passenger rear window might be wired wrong. Only goes down while holding the front rear switch and the back one at the same time, a little weird!
-Some minor dings on the hood, trunk, and roof. The color of the car hides them well.
-Needs rear driver door cards replaced.
-The previous owner decided to put in a manual window in the front driver’s side I replaced it with an automatic but the small hole is still in the door.
-Small crack in the dashpad that is visible in the overhead picture.
-The rear speaker crackles once in a while so might need reconnecting or replace
-The blinker works intermittently. Needs a new blinker relay.
-Put the AC dryer back in its original place so the original washer bottle will fit.
