Description:

1990 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

This is a rare 1990 Mercedes 2-door G Wagon that originally came from Ukraine around four years ago. It is a very solid vehicle with a number of upgrades. It starts up right away, runs and drives straight on the highway, and is a very capable off-road vehicle. I am selling it just to thin down my herd of off-road rigs. I bought it about 3 years ago at an auction and did some mods to it for overland adventure purposes. It is legally titled and insured in the US. Here is the breakdown:
Modifications done in Ukraine (to my knowledge):
  • 3.2L motor swap (compression 125 psi across all cylinders) from an early 1990s Mercedes. This is rated around 215 hp and is about a 60 hp improvement from the stock motor. The mileage shows 150k km on the rig but I have no idea how many miles (kilometers) are on the motor itself. I have put about 2k miles on it since I've owned it.
  • AMG upgrades include 19" wheels, exhaust tips, and chrome door sill entries.
  • Upgraded headlights (xenon style, I believe)
  • Newer paint

Modifications done in the US:
  • Upgraded HVAC system with new, larger AC condenser. The rig blows ice cold, even in the SW desert heat on a 115 degree day.
  • Converted cooling fan from belt driven fan to modern G-wagon electric fan (exact same fan used in my 2011 G55 AMG) with integrated control module to automatically adjust speed based on thermostat temp and AC usage.
  • Upgraded to modern G-wagon fog lights
  • Modern spare-tire carrier and cover
  • New Goodyear off-road tires (including full spare) with ~90% tread; about 32" in diameter. A larger tire could be used but this is the biggest tire I could find for the 19" AMG wheels that came with it.
  • Ironman 2" coil spring lift and new shocks all around plus rear spacers to level the rig
  • Realignment front control arm bushings
  • New tie rod/drag link ends
  • 1.25" wheel adapters with stud conversion
  • New turn signal switch
  • New roof rack
  • Reworked intake system with cone filter
  • New OEM transmission filter with long pickup tube
  • New ignition and keys
  • Recent routine maintenance includes new spark plugs/wires, radiator cap, gas cap, thermostat, and fluid changes

The lowdown:The rig shifts fine and drives straight as an arrow. It will reach highway speeds although with its gearing, at 75 MPH the motor is spinning around 4k RPM. The 4WD works perfectly, including the locking differentials. All of the gauges work and I think all of the idiot lights work too. The power windows work and the electric door locks work except for the driver side. The front/rear wipers work but the headlight, and front/rear windshield washer fluid pump doesn't work. The HVAC lever sticks a bit and I haven't gotten it to blow hot air but the AC works very well and blows ice cold. There is no evidence of rust on the body and the frame is still pretty solid. This is not a perfect rig but a super cool rig that would be great for your outdoor adventures. Happy to discuss more by phone to serious buyers. Just send me a message and I can call you. Can help arrange for shipping from Las Vegas or St. George, Utah.
Since VIN is not from the US, it is not accepted on eBay platform. Here is the VIN and it can be looked up online (this is how I learned it is from Ukraine):WDB46322717068494
