Description:

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series

Up for bid is this classic one owner 1960 Mercedes Benz 190B. We recently rescued this beauty from a garage in North East Texas where it had been sitting up for over 50 years! We were told this is a one owner car that was parked in 1972 due to a timing chain issue. Being that it had been protected from the elements of outside, this car has been preserved exceptionally well! After we got it back to the shop, we were able to replace the timing chain as well as the timing gears on the cam and crankshaft. We also changed the oil and filter, spark plugs, and wires as well as a new set of tires. The cars original 1.9L gas 4 cylinder engine is currently running great with the exception of needing the factory fuel tank dropped and cleaned. At this point in time we just bypassed the factory tank and used a temporary tank that is sitting in the trunk. As soon as you hit the factory push button start this thing is up and purring like a kitten! The car does not smoke or have any strange noises, it doesn't run hot and everything seems to be circulating well on the cooling system. It does need some exhaust work where the factory muffler has become rusty underneath. The car is currently showing 15k on the odometer, but we do know it has rolled over to 115k as there are most of the oil change stickers still in the door jamb. The clutch and transmission are great with the factory 4spd on the column. We didn't go through the brakes on the car so those will need to be addressed as they're currently not working. I would think a set of brake wheel cylinders and hoses would do the trick, but currently NO BRAKES.
On the exterior of the car, the sheet metal is extremely solid with no rust through whatsoever! We were able to take the factory single stage paint and bring it back to life! For the age of the car and the fact of it being all original it has a great shine! The car is really straight but isn't a perfect show car as it does have a few dings and blemishes here and there, the worst of those being some dings along the driver's quarter panel, and a dent along the edge of passenger hood as seen in pics. The glass is all in good shape with the exception of needing some dry rotted window rubbers replaced. Both front and rear bumpers are in good shape and solid. Overall, the exterior of the car looks great and is exceptionally good for its age!
Inside the car, it is very complete and solid. The door jambs look great in this car! The seats are very usable but could use a recover if you were looking for something perfect. All of the gauges seem to be working as they should, as well as the headlights, taillights, etc. There is absolutely no rust in the floor pans and still has all the factory rubber matting in the floor. The trunk area is very clean as well with factory mat, jack, and spare.
We were able to film and document the whole process with the car on our Restored YouTube channel. You can view the complete video below for more info and visual of the car. Unfortunately, the previous owner had passed away and the title had been misplaced years ago. NO TITLE sold with a bill of sale, there are no liens or money owed on this car. Car will need to be picked up in Bogata Tx no later than 30 days after auction end, anything past that point will be charged $5 a day for storage. Although the car runs great, the vehicle will need to be trailered as there are currently NO BRAKES. We do have a local transport guy if you happen to need help on getting the car to your location. This is a no reserve auction starting at .99 cents and high bidder wins! $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, remainder of payment due within 3 days of auction end through cash or bank wire transfer. If you have zero or negative feedback please contact before bidding. Serious bidders only please, any questions please text 903-222-1913 before bidding. Thanks, and God Bless!!
