Description:
1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC
1991 MERCEDES 560SEC - RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT WILL TAKE YOU ANYWHERE YOU WANT!I am the 3rd owner of the vehicle and have owned it since February 2011 when the car had around 170k miles. The original owner had the car the longest (almost 20 years),The second owner from whom I bought the car told me that it was his grandmother, who could no longer drive and he was given the car and only owned it for less than a year and the carfax confirms that.
I have owned it for over 12 years and have added around 70,000 miles to it.
THE CAR STARTS, RUNS, AND DRIVES REALLY GOOD, BUT IT IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED AS PLANNED NON OP SINCE IT FAILED EMMISIONS IN NOVEMBER 2022 DUE TO THE SMOG/AIR PUMP (this pump is only for the smog it costs $100-200 and it does not affect the vehicle since it is only required in the US and specifically California, the European cars are not even equipped with it and I would personally just remove it if you don' need to pass California emissions.)
There is a Hydraulic Lifter Knock on the passenger side of the engine.Valve stem seals need to be replaced (symptom is that the car smokes for a few seconds when you first start it)Valve Cover Gaskets need to be replaced (leaking is common for 32 year old car).
MAINTANANCE, REPAIRS AND UPGRADES DONE DURING MY OWNERSHIP ARE:
Transmission Serviced as soon as I purchased the vehicle, since I had no records of the past services on it. (and have serviced it at least 2 more times since, I do it once every 30k miles)
Most of the front suspension has been replaced around 2012 since it felt lose when I first bought it.
Front struts were replaced in 2015
Front brake calipers and rotors have been replaced also in 2015
Fuel Pumps replaced in 2016
Spark plugs and injectors replaced 2017
Rear shock accumulators and "SACHS" shocks (OEM shocks for self leveling suspension) have also been replaced with brand new OEM parts in 2016
AC has been converted from R12 to 134
Upgraded steering wheel from W140 S-class with burl wood.
Headliner professionally replaced by local upholstery shopwith a material I've chosen similar looking to suede (see photos)
BRABUS Exhaust mufflers (half) from 2002 Mercedes-Benz S600 V12 BRABUS
Resonator delete (sounds better)
H&R - BOLT ON Racing Spacers 25mm on the Front & 30mm on the Rear
H&R lowering springs (front and rear)
2000-2002 S500 AMG Monoblock wheels
Front tires are New, Rear tires are not, but they probably only have like 10K miles on them I can check my receipts.
New Battery in 2022
All windows are tinted including the windshield, with ceramic tint to protect the interior from the sun.
The car runs and drives really well, but it needs new valve stem seals because it smokes when you first start it for the first 30 seconds or so, and also has a valve lifter knock that it had developed in the last year or so..Smog pump is ceased and it wont move, therefore the car is registered as planned non op, and it would need a new pump if required to pass a smog test in California.
It would also need a new paint job and some body work since the clear coat is peeling and some rust started showing on the driver side rear fender, but it is very minimal.
But the interior of this car is in amazing condition, see the photos.
