Description:
1972 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 350SL 1 Owner
If you have been looking for a excellent example of a "all original" 1972 350SL, this is going to be about the closest thing to that in the Country. This one year only early serial number 350SL has what I believe to be the original coat of Signal red paint. I've been collecting R107's for decades, so I think I know enough to make a accurate assumption. The interior is 100% original as well,, with no crackeddash original Becker stereo, and only 93,000 original miles. I make a firm stance on originalmiles due to the slightly discoloredzero on the odometer, the linear aggregation of miles on the service records and original maintenance book. The paint and chrome show excellent on this car. Lets face it, shes one of the nicest 50 year old survivors you will find anywhere. Original, paint, almost perfect 50 year old top. One small hole (pictured) but its still far to nice to replace. The interior shows as new. Excellent rugs, no warping of the door cards, tight, crack free dash, and absolutely everything works on the car.
Bumpers are excellent as well.
This is a very tight, fully sorted driver that really does not need anything. I'd recommend replacing the tires merely as a precaution due to age. I mean check out the patina on the hubcaps!
This 350SL is a winner all the way around. The trans shifts great, brakes are tight, and responsive. No smoke on startup. Excellent power, suspension is super tight as well.
I know of one other example that is almost as nice, but not as good colors as this car, that recently traded in the mid 20K range.
I actually purchased this car for a client of mine in the Netherlands, but the deal fell through, I'm going for a quick and easy sale on the car to move it down the road.
The nuts and bolts of this car is that I purchased it from a Dealer in Wisconsin, who purchased it from the original owners Estate, and the car resided with the original owners family in Wisconsin for the past 15 years, but obviously rarely seen the outside of a garage.
Car is cross posted and for sale on other venues, facebook groups, etc.
You can contact me to discuss. A survivor 350SL like this wontlast long.
It's listed for $18,500 locally, which...is a no brainer,
