Attention : This MB is being relisted due to non payment . Since the previous listin, the title has been transferred to my name and it is currently registered . please note that this car only has five digits on the odometer and the milage is reading 48,808 . it is safe to assume that it has rolled over at least once . If you're in the market for a classic Fintail ( Heckflosse ) that can be used as a daily driver with minimal effort or a great candidate for a restoratio, this may be the one .
This 220 SE has spent its entire existence in California and New Mexico . it is a complete and rust free vehicle . A few spots of surface rust are presen, but has penetrated the metal and they are very minimal . it maintains its original paint and body panels . The doors close as they should . The interior is in pretty good shap, with one notable tear on the drivers seat . The headliner is original and free of tears and sags . all of the glass have proper German stamping .
I purchased this MB from a family who owned it for 20 years . This car was not running at that tim, as it sat idle for a number of years .I recently hired my mechanic to change the po3 and spark plugs . The keys to the car wete lost by the previous owner, but he was able to by pass the ignition and was able to find operating mechanical use of the moto, which had good compression on all cylinders . I do have a short video of the motor turning ove, which is available upon request .
As aforementione, the car has a clear and clean title in my name . The car was reassigned a replacement vin number . The replacement vin number is identical to the chassis number that is still attached to the vehicle . i can only assume that the car was out of the DMV system for so long that they issued it a new vin tag using the chassis numbers instead of the original vin numbers . In any cas, the car has a clean title in my name .
I have placed a very fair reserve on this classi, which wasn't far off from the second highest bidder and less than the highest bidder from the last listing . The car is ready for a new owne, as it is too beautiful and classy to sit idle for another 20 years .
