1987 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

This is an amazing car. It was purchased new by Mr. David Kirr in Indianapolis. I bought it about 1 1/2 years ago. And was able to locate Mr. Kirr and speak with him. He told me the car had never seen winter and very seldom was it out in the rain. It looks it. This was his first new SL and he truly loved it. The car made its way to Arizona and eventually was traded in on a new one by Mr. Kirr. About the car, first, the paint is original except for the top panel of both doors. The passenger door was repaired under my ownership as it had a parking lot scratch. The other before I bought it. Both repairs match perfectly. The rest of the paint is amazing. So much so that I just spent $1500.00 on a Ceramic Finish with a 5 year warranty. People do not believe me when I tell them the paint is original. Under my ownership the following has been repaired or replaced. 4 new Kumho Salus tires, Bosch wiper blades, Lloyd floor and trunk mat, fuel cap, battery box and metal clamps, Hartz German Canvas top, Re-upholstered seats in correct MB Tex material, radiator, battery, air conditioning (done at MB of Ft. Myers) Bosch fuel distributor pressure regulator, steering column coupler, fuel pump supply hose and fuel pump seals replaced, antenna (manual) new transmission cooler flex hoses, Bosch fuel injectors (8) and new painted pinstriping. I have all of the bills for the work which will accompany the car. The car has a clean Florida title which I have in hand. The car starts, runs and drives beautifully. It turns more heads than my new S-Class ever did. The factory chrome wheels are in great shape. The are 2 hairline cracks on the dash at the defroster vents. I am ordering a new dash cover and will include that with the sale. I welcome inspections but before you bid only. There is a very good local inspector who is quite familiar with R-107 vehicles. People that I have sold to before have used him and have been very satisfied. There is a non-refundable deposit due of $500.00 if you are the buyer. PayPal is fine. I do not accept it for the balance as it is too expensive. For the same reason I do not take credit cards. You are very welcome to call me with questions at 239-272-9298. There is no dealer fee but if you are a Florida resident we are obligated by law to collect sales tax, transfer fees etc. and process the title work on your behalf. To get a temporary tag you must have valid insurance. If you are from out of state and plan on driving the car home we can issue a temp tag but you are required to pay Florida Sales Tax. In most states you get a credit for the sales tax you paid in Florida. That said you should check with your own state to make sure that your state is one that is reciprocal. If you are going to be transporting the car once you have signed the bill of sale and your payment has cleared we will send you the title assigned as you wish.
