Description:

1965 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

With production of the 190SL and 300SL models ending in 1963, Mercedes-Benz turned to the 230SL to carry on the tradition of the SL moniker. The new design was met with rave reviews at the Geneva Auto Show; its squarer shape was a departure from the more rounded cars that Mercedes-Benz had been known for at the time. The hardtop roof, referred to as the “Pagoda,” added to the unique design of the car with the benefit of safety and added visibility. Mercedes-Benz sometimes refers to their cars by chassis code, the 230SL falls under the W113 chassis code designation. Production for the 230SL ran through 1967.
The example offered here is a great project worthy car that just came out of long- term storage. It is equipped with both hard and soft tops and a manual transmission. It comes with an additional set of seats. This is a great opportunity to restore the car as you see fit.
