1984 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Amazing! 12,890 original miles. This red roadster is an outstanding survivor. Original condition and it still looks practically new. 1st owner until 1988, sold with about 8,000 miles. 2nd owner kept it at their home in Naples Florida until just a few years ago when the son took ownership. He added it to his car collection in Kentucky. It has been really well maintained, has records. This is a rare opportunity, they are only original once.
EXTERIOR: The body is pristine. I didn't find any signs of any rust, bubbles or even door dings. It's absolutely straight, everything fits right. The original paint still has a very bright, glossy finish. I only found 2 minor nicks. The owner claimed the paint is original. I inspected it closely and I believe him, there's no signs of overspray or tape lines. All the bright trim including bumpers, stainless trim, door handles, mirrors are mint. It's not scratched, pitted or dented, it all sparkles. All the rubber trim on the moldings and bumpers look mint. There's no nicks, it's not dried out or distorted. The windshield is crystal clear. The wheels are still glossy, they look brand new. The Michelin tires look new. The door jambs look brand new- the decals, latches, weather strips are still soft like new. The scuff plates are not even scuffed! Even inside the fuel door its spotless, the gas cap is glossy. The convertible top is a brown German cloth and it's practically like new. The framework and hardware on the top frame still looks spotless. The lift off hardtop is also practically still like new. The lenses, emblems, grill, fog lights look new.
INTERIOR: Inside the car shows no wear at all. The seats, door panels, carpets, steering wheel, shift knob, armrests support on 12,000 miles. The dash area is mint. There are no cracks, not even in the wood grain trim. Has it's original Becker stereo. Also still has it's original first aid kit that has never been used and everything is in it. There are no odors or signs of mice or mildew. The original pouch with the manuals, warranty card and tools for the top is in the glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor compartment even looks practically new. All the finishes on the different parts, pieces and clamps still looks good. The foam hood insulation is not deteriorating. Has a smooth running 3.8 liter V-8, fuel injected.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Surprise, surprise. Its mint in the trunk too. Carpet is like new. Under the floor is the original alloy wheel on original tire and the original jack. None have ever been out of the car and still look new. The jack and rim are glossy! A car cover is included.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean original condition. It still has assembly line paint markings on the suspension. The Stainless dual exhaust is genuine Mercedes. No signs of any rust or damage. It features 4 wheel disc brakes and independent suspension.
I'm being careful not to use the word "perfect" even though I'm tempted. I will say this car's condition is outstanding. It must be one of the best in the country. Very desirable car with a classic design. This is the next generation Mercedes roadster to shoot up in value. There are many others available......they aren't this car!
