The 380SL combined all that Mercedes learned about the V-8 R107 chassis cars into a cultural icon that quietly and confidently told the world its occupants had "arrived." Simplicity, superb build quality, and an enduring design are all hallmarks of the Mercedes 380SL. The R107 chassis was one of the longest running production bodies in the Diamler-Benz AG's line, and R107s are extremely well built and collectable. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, Germany factory.
Few vehicles are as distinctive and unique as the 107 chassis Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Although there are other vehicles that are instantly recognizable - the Gullwing Mercedes, the '57 Chevy, and the DeLorean to name a few - there is no other vehicle so classy, yet affordable as a 107 chassis Mercedes-Benz.

Exterior:
It’s very rare, and highly desirable ORIGINAL Thistle Green Metallic (Paint Code 881H silberdistel) paint has a beautiful shine and luster and combined with its original Parchment interior this particular 380SL just looks stunning!!! Very classic and elegant color combination!!
Chrome is in excellent condition, it is complete and new looking, and this beautiful roadster is a head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes.
This Mercedes is very solid and most importantly RUST FREE (please see pictures!!!). It spent its whole life in California (until 2007), and then dry Tennessee which explains its dry and solid state! Body is in wonderful condition and it is straight as an arrow! All doors, hood, and trunk are operating with ease and everything lines up properly. It was never in an accident, and it has been always garaged in air conditioned garage, pampered and kept away from rain and bad weather, and it truly shows!! It was only driven and enjoyed on sunny and beautiful days!
Undercarriage is all original, unmolested, and free of any kind of undercoatings except the factory one! When you remove the road dirt inside of the fenders, original light green paint is revealed, found only in handful of unmolested and original examples of R107 series!!
All ORIGINAL Factory stickers are still present, including the Dealership Pre-Delivery inspection sticker inside the driver door jamb showing originality of this car (Please see pictures!!)
Factory Chassis number stamping on the front radiator support is another sign of originality of this car. There is not a lot of 380SL’s out there in this solid and amazingly kept and preserved condition!!
It is equipped with both soft top, and the hard top! Its ORIGINAL Poly-Glas soft top is in excellent condition, plastic windows are nice and clear, and it is very easy to operate. Original Hard top is also in great condition, including all the glass, and the headliner which is clean, and rips and tears free!!
Its windshield is still ORIGINAL SEKURIT Glass Windshield!!!! (Please see pictures!!!)
Like they say “Originality is king when it comes to classic carsâ€!! Not only does finding a 30ish year old car that has not been altered by numerous past owners add to your enjoyment of the car; the more original features that you can substantiate the better when it comes time to sell your treasure!!!
Experienced car collectors and investors have learned that a solid, sound, original body is the most important aspect of any vintage car! Mechanical rebuilds are straight forward and not costly compared to trying to correct a previously crashed or rusted car. Carpet is clean and in great shape!
Seats are in excellent condition as well and are very supportive and comfortable.
Original Dash is in excellent condition, free of cracks or aftermarket plastic covers - VERY rare to be found on SL's of this vintage!!!!
This Mercedes comes with power windows, and they are working as they should!

-Engine & Transmission
3.8 Liter V8 Engine is strong and powerful as ever with only 100,000 miles on the odometer (only about 2,630 miles per year!!!). It has no problems reaching 80MPH+ and its real blast to drive!!!
Right before we acquired it, its owner spent close to $6,000 in its maintenance because he didn’t use it often over past few years!! It received full tune up, rebuilt fuel system (new fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel accumulator, rebuilt fuel distributor, etc), new front brakes, new cooling system among other things, getting it ready for the summer. Soon after he did all the work, he acquired another specialty car and needed more garage space and sold this beauty to us.
Automatic Transmission shifts effortlessly through every gear, and it makes this SL absolute joy to drive and cruise in! This German Roadster handles great at the high speeds, and it is very comfortable.
Air Condition works as it should, and this car is ready for some topless fun!! There is nothing better than driving down the road with the top down, and the wind in your hair!!!
Matching Michelin Defender tires are in excellent condition, and they make this SL float on the road!
It comes with its original books and manuals, as well as with its original Tool Set! Even the original spare tire is present, it never touched the ground, very rare to be found on a vehicle that is only few years old, let alone 38 years old!!!
This is a very nicely kept and complete Mercedes SL, that has been loved its whole life, it was never abused, and it truly shows!! Every used SL has been created equal, but there are some that have been loved just a little bit more!!!! This car is one of those SL’s!!
