For sale is a RUST FREE 1971 Mercedes Benz 280 SL. It came after the original 300 SL gullwing which was followed by the 190 SL and this car was made to replace them. This model is more known as a pagoda. The styling is gorgeous, very stunning to look at. The condition of this car is astounding. The restoration of this car was very high quality. The previous owner passed away then the car was later sold by the wife. This car was very well engineered with very great visibility and high tech shaping. The soft top and hard top is also in excellent condition, the soft top barely used. The underneath of the car is flawless. Has little to no rust anywhere. Under the hood, it offers the original, m130 engine. These engines were very advanced for their time, they put out close to 180 hp. It runs and drives excellent. Again the underneath is very dry and solid. This car is a runner, it's very comfortable to drive, it has 4 wheel disc brakes, comfortable leather seats, and a strong engine that will keep up with traffic and shift smooth! The interior is also in great condition. The wood is gorgeous, seats are like new and overall a lovely design. The quality of the restoration is truly very astounding. Unfortunately, I do not have any records of that process. Odometer reads roughly 94k mileage. I had it recently fully inspected at Marlos Mercedes Mercedes Werks in Monterey, the car checked out very well!I am looking to get around $65,000 BUT the reserve is much lower so please bid!ONLY BID IF SERIOUS
